#HomeOffice Tips to work at home without dying in the process

Hello dears! How are you? Facing the Coronavirus crisis, many companies have chosen to send their workers home, so I share some tips to make a successful home office. Check them out!

What seemed like a utopia for many – working from home – has become a reality due to the quarantine that we started this week in Mexico due to the Coronavirus crisis.

However, doing home office can be your best ally or your worst nightmare, it all depends on your habits. Therefore, I share some tips to adapt your routine in a simple way and achieve the efficiency you have at your office:

1. Forget about pajamas

The first thing we must do is understand that even if we are at home, it is not a vacation. Getting up early, bathing and grooming is the best way to start your day. You can wear comfortable clothes, such as a t-shirt or blouse with baggy jeans, but not pajamas. Combing hair, perfuming and in the case of women, putting on a little makeup, always helps to lift one’s humor.

2. Set schedules

Even if you are at home, it is important to follow a routine. You can continue working from 9 am to 6 pm, respecting the schedules for breakfast, lunch and breaks. Just as important it is not to work overtime, better spend those hours relaxing with other activities.

3. Your bed is not your desk

Many of us believe that home office is the same as being able to work in bed. Although it seems comfortable, we should avoid it and define a table, desk or special place where we can sit quietly to work, taking care of our posture when sitting down to avoid back or neck pain.

4. Avoid distractions

If you know that TV, cell phone, social networks or your pet are your weak point, try to avoid them while you work and better program 10-minute breaks at the end of each task. Another tip is to have everything you need in your workspace, so you don’t have to get up and you’ll avoid distractions.

5. Take care of cleaning

We know that in the office it is easy to maintain cleanliness and order, but at home it is much more difficult since you are in charge of it. The cleaner and tidier your workspace is, the more efficient you will be.

6. Walk and stretch

One of the disadvantages of doing home office is that you become sedentary. By not going out to the office, for a meeting or to eat, you need to find ways to get around. Walk while you talk on the phone or stretch at your breaks, to avoid sitting 24/7.

7. Exercise

Just like going to the office, you should give yourself time to exercise at least three times a week, either in the morning or at the end of your work schedule. The easiest way is to search YouTube videos or Instagram routines with your favorite influencers. This will help you to lift your spirits, stay active and be in a good mood.

With these tips, you will surely love doing home office (and you won’t want to return back to it 😊)
