“Oaxaca Project”: A collection with cause – Lorena Saravia & The Fancy Archive
(Reading: 4 minutes) / By Andy Ochoa / Photo: Lorena Saravia
Hi loves! How are you? I hope everything’s fine. Last week I attended the presentation of the “Oaxaca Project”, a collection of the Mexican designer Lorena Saravia in collaboration with The Fancy Archive, in order to help communities affected by the last month earthquakes. I’ll tell you the whole experience!
On October 19, the “Oaxaca Project” was presented by designer Lorena Saravia in collaboration with the Mexican brand The Fancy Archive. But, what is it about?
These designers thought how to re-activate the use of silk and cotton textiles that are produced in more than 10 communities of Oaxaca. For this reason, they created a collection of 10 looks with handcrafted silk for contemporary women. The best part of it? 100% of the funds raised will be donated for the reconstruction of communities in Oaxaca affected by the earthquakes.
I must say I loved the designs (and more the cause). So if you are interested, you can find the collection in the boutiques LORENA SARAVIA in Masaryk and Via Santa Fé; in TFA Arcos Bosques and in the Palacio de Hierro Polanco, Santa Fé, Interlomas and Monterrey.
With projects like this, there is no doubt the commitment of Mexican fashion with the reconstruction of our Mexico, #Mexicomiamor
Finally, I’ll share some photos from the event, so that you, like me, can fall in love with this collection.
Kisses,
Andy Ochoa
